Limit respiratory epidemics with non-contact diagnostics
Airborne pathogens spread fast and invisibly. About 10% of the global population is affected by respiratory infections each year. We believe air is the next frontier in diagnostics.
No swab.
No lab.
Just breath.
We are leveraging advances in microfluidics to build a lab-on-a-chip, cutting the need of operators and bulky lab equipments. All steps are automatically sequenced. Results are delivered within 20 minutes.
Patient-centric diagnostics, protected by 8 patents
Single-use consumable to identify up to 12 pathogens.
Embarks all reagents necessary to perform tests.
Platform technology: generic structural parts + biological reagents specific to each application (panel).

Lightweight, easy to manipulate.
Autonomous and battery-operated.
Connectivity with secure cloud and visualization interface.

Make fast decisions based on precise data, everywhere
Empowering heathcare professionals with data based on molecular biology, the gold standard for diagnosing respiratory infections.
Fast
Results in 20 minutes, compatible with the duration of a medical exam.
Non-technical
Easy to set up, minimal operations.
Sensitive
Harnessing the power of molecular biology.
Ubiquitous
Adapted to a large range of settings: hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies.
Our mission: reducing the burden of respiratory infections
Each year, respiratory infections cost hundreds of millions of euros to societies, directly of indirectly.
Identify infections early to to decrease escalation risks, and control epidemics and pandemics as early as possible by breaking transmission chains.
Streamline patients’ journeys.
Offer high-performance diagnostics to medical desert areas.
Rationalize the use of antibiotics to limit the emergence of antimicrobial resistance.
The team

Fanny Turlure
CEO & Co-founder
Fanny has an academic background in infectious diseases, having worked for 9 years on pathogen-host interactions in international environments and holding a PhD from Imperial College London. She then joined Aryballe, a deeptech startup aiming to digitize the sense of smell, first as business developer and then as global product manager.
With nawu diagnostics, Fanny seeks to pioneer non-invasive diagnostics by leveraging on her experience in hardware product development and infectious diseases.

Joao Trabuco
CTO & Co-founder
Joao comes from academic research at both the University of Lisbon and the University of Houston where he studied technologies to improve the performance of point-of-care rapid tests. Since 2019, Joao has been active in the European startup ecosystem and helped build two deeptech startups.
At nawu diagnostics, Joao applies polymath skills to product development. His approach combines physics, microfluidics, instrumentation, and biology, allowing us to integrate diverse scientific approaches into practical diagnostic solutions.
